People around Yuyuan Garden. Small fashion update: few weeks ago when the weather was colder the street sales hit were hats imitating animal heads, like bears, cats etc.Thousands wearing them. Last week and warmer weather brought the glowing horns fashion. Thousands wearing them.
Street near YuYuan Gardens just full of people

Happy moments for the children
Screamer in the fog. Actually a man grilling meat on the grill that is built behind his bicycle.
Making sugar batting candy. Again the machine is built on a bicycle.

Living in Shanghai
After 2.5 weeks of life in hotel this week it was time to move into apartment. Apartment offers a bit different bathroom approach, otherwise it is 2 bedroom 1 living room apartment in a 30 floor building, I am on 3rd floor. Well, there is also a second bathroom for the ones who don't fancy glass wall when taking a shower :)
Having a dinner is one important part of Chinese culture. Already ordering procedure is one long ritual. This picture might look like an exhibition in museum, but actually this is the biggest menu I have seen. Instead of a printed menu you can walk in this menu and just point with finger what you would like. Swallow nests, turtle soups, snakes, dog meat and then more regular dishes.

Search for traditions
Shanghai is rather modern place having double the amount of New York's skyscrapers and almost every day there is a new one popping up. Few places I have managed to catch on picture without a skyscraper on the background.
Yuyuan Gardens. One of the place where locals like to go during the holiday. Decided to have look during the busy Chines New Year time.
Dumplings. Traditional food, and one of the best ones I have tasted.
And the skyscrapers
In Old Town of Qibao in suburbs of Shanghai
Home street for last 2 weeks. One of the few pedestrian areas, also the area where each time I go out there is minimum one happy fella following me with a offer to go check out his bar, massage, beautiful girls and loka-loka (haven't figured out is this is a modification of a word "look-look" or this is a key word for action)
That's a good street just opposite my hotel there is a shop selling a 0.5L bottle of local drink, price is 28 100EUR. Thought of getting a bottle or two :)

Less busy corner of Shanghai
After being in Shanghai almost for 2 weeks I found a corner in the city that is a bit less busy and more relaxed, and it was just one metro stop from the place I had been living for the whole time...
Somewhere not far from XuHui district. Looked like a place where expats like to cruise around.
The 2 tall buildinga at the back looked rather interesting - similar houses but the right one had all the corners as round as possible, and the left one was opposing with exactly the same architecture but all the corners were made 90 degrees. Work was still in progress, have to wait when they are finished.
Tree lined streets in XuHui
Hieroglyphs. There are some hieroglyphs I can recognize, like "one", "hall", "ox", "human", "man", "big", "small" maybe few more. But non from the picture, luckily there was a translation... :)
